Does UD384/UC384 need driver?

MAC OS: UD/UC384 does NOT require driver for MAC user. You may just plug it into any USB port and then installation will be automatically run. Besides, you are able to play the music in 44.1K/16bit until 384k/32bit in this system.

Windows OS: Driver needs to be installed in Windows system. The driver is enclosed with the USB/disc in the UD/UC 384 carton. Please follow the installation instruction carefully.

Which computer systems are compatible with UD/UC384?

Windows OS: Compatible with Window OS ranged from Window XP to
Windows 8, both of 32 and 64 bit.

MAC OS: Compatible with MAC OS ranged from OS10.6 to OS10.8

Linux OS: Part of Lunux OS are compatible.

Does my UD/UC384 need firmware upgrade?

Unlike previously launched products such as UC192, UC/UD384 which was introduced after June of 2012 is unnecessary for any update currently. New driver might be introduced in future for minor troubleshooting only. If UC/UD384 runs smoothly in your system, you do not need to run any updates.

Why UD/UC384 cannot be installed in my computer?

First of all, please make sure that the USB port that UD/UC384 connected with is on the motherboard itself, but not on any port extension.
For desktop user, you should use USB port which is on the behind of host; for notebook, all USB port is technically acceptable. Please do not plug UD/UC384 in the extension USB HUB. Otherwise UD/UC384 might not be detected or the driver might not be able to run properly.

The driver of UD/UC384 is installed correctly, but it still couldn’t output sometimes.

UD384: Audio out: 44.1k/16bit~384k/32bit
Spdif out:44.1k/16bit~192k/24bit

UC384: IIS out: 44.1k/16bit~384K/32bit
Spdif/AES out: 44.1k/16bit~192k/24bit

Please ensure your signal output mode is correct. Kindly be noted that UD/UC384 might not be able to run in certain signal output modes.

Why computer cannot detect UD/UC384 sometimes?

Please replug the USB cable and power cord again to reestablish connection.

Why the DAC still display 44.1K when I set on higher resolution on digital output?
A
If you are using iTunes or Window Media Player, the signal output is commonly in 44k/16bit, However you can always set the resolution from sound setting in control panel. Moreover, some specific software could be used for enhancement, for instance, FOOBAR+Wasapi(For WIN) or Tunes + Pure Music/ Amarra, the resolution could be selected automatically with these special program.

Is the particular output device of UD/UC384 able to be turned off?

The output connector of UD/UC384 is synchronic with PC. All the connector will output signal when you play the music on the your computer; but when 32bit is set, the spdif/AES output will be turned off automatically. Since the Spdif and AES of UC384 is the same circuit inside, customers can only choose one of them for audio output.

Why tape hiss occur or even cut off transiently during the play?

It might be due to incorrect buffer setting of the play device. Customers are advised to use the default buffer mode and avoid unnecessary changes. Nonetheless, changes are only doable when it is necessary.
